BIRL's research focuses on the development of next-generation computational and engineering frameworks to formulate systems-level understanding of disease. Our work spans multiscale cancer modeling and simulation, proteomics data analysis, antiviral therapeutic discovery, and health informatics. By integrating multi-omics, clinical, imaging, and sensor-generated data with high-performance computing and intuitive software platforms, we enable standardized, reproducible, and scalable biomedical modeling and analysis that bridges wet-lab experimentation and in silico biomedical discoveries.
BIRL translates computational innovation into practical biomedical and healthcare solutions. Our platforms advance personalized cancer therapeutics, drug-target discovery, and antiviral development, while our health informatics tools support intelligent decision-making for public health in low- and middle-income settings. Through deployable software, clinical collaborations, and academia-industry partnerships, we accelerate bench-to-bedside translation, improve resource use, and strengthen sustainable capacity in biomedical data science.
We are seeking brilliant minds to join our interdisciplinary team at BIRL to solve the next generation of biomedical challenges.
